Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
Music and health are two of my passions in life. I continue to play violin and have played for 30 years, diversifying performance opportunities with teaching, arranging, and composing in contemporary and classical contexts. I am currently pursuing a postdoctoral fellowship in neurology with the Memory and Aging Center of UCSF. My goal for this work is two-fold: 1) publishing data from my dissertation on musical rhythm, cognition and the healthy aging brain; and 2) designing and executing a project on musical rhythm and social cognition in persons living with dementia.
Collaboration Interests:
I am interested in collaborating with musicians and scientists interested in social aspects of music and health. I am particularly interested in collaborating with neurologists, neuropsychologists, geriatricians, and gerontologists.
