Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
Music and health are two of my passions in life. I continue to play violin and have played for 26 years, diversifying performance opportunities with teaching, arranging, and composing in contemporary and classical contexts. I am currently pursuing my doctorate in ethnomusicology, with partnering research in neuroscience. My goal for this project is to document aging effects upon rhythm perception, learning, and performance, with the ultimate goal of correlating aging and rhythm perception with perceived social isolation.
Collaboration Interests:
I am interested in collaborating with musicians and scientists interested in social aspects of music and health. I am particularly interested in collaborating with gerontologists, as indicated in the biography section above regarding my dissertation work.
