Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) was founded in 1922 with the goal of making Rochester, NY “a truly musical city,” as stated by our founder George Eastman. In the intervening century, the RPO has taken center stage in our community. Each season, more than 170,000 adults and children attend RPO performances and educational events.

The RPO is building an inclusivity initiative focused on the intersection of music and health, the RPO Care and Wellness Initiative. In collaboration with Board-Certified Music Therapists, the RPO is working to utilize the talents of our musicians to serve populations including those affected by neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, intellectual and developmental disabilities, complex genetic disorders, and more.
Collaboration Interests:
We would love to connect with other arts organizations to share what we've learned, as well as to hear from them as to what has worked for them and what hasn't.

We'd also welcome the opportunity to hear from academics and music therapists on ways to measure impact and how to ensure our programs have a positive effect on our audiences.
