Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
Dr. Christophe Jackson, PhD., DMA, MSPAS, PA-C, is a New Orleans native having received his doctorates in Biology, Mechanical Engineering, and Piano Performance and a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he studies the effects of music on cognition, performance and stress. After doctoral studies, Dr. Jackson went on to receive postdoctoral training in Neuroscience and Music at Tulane University. Clinically, Dr. Jackson continues to work as a neurosurgery, neurology, trauma, infectious disease, and urology surgical physician assistant at a Level 1 trauma center in brain and spine and private practice. Dr. Jackson utilizes his expertise and experience medicine, science, engineering, and music to bridge the gaps between access to healthcare through the development of Musician's Health Clinics, research, and technology. However, outside of medicine, Dr. Jackson is a “musician at heart” having performed professionally as a classical and jazz pianist, keeping true to his New Orleans roots, in noted music venues throughout the country and overseas.
