Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
David Sonnenschein is the CEO of iQsonics LLC, researching and developing music and audio for brain health, with the flagship SBIR funded program SING AND SPEAK 4 KIDS, an online music-based game to help young children with speech delays (Autism, Down, ID, English Language Learners). He holds a BA in Neurobiology/Music U.C.S.D., MFA Cinema/TV U.S.C., and is a course designer, lecturer, consultant, and author of "Sound Design: The Expressive Power of Music, Voice and Sound Effects in Cinema." Wind instrumentalist (classical clarinet, jazz flute, world music, sound healing with didgeridoo), he currently focuses on music-based, gamified mHealth and Edtech programs offering universal access that translate into measurable real world behavioral, social, educational and creative outcomes.
Collaboration Interests:
As an artist/musician, educator, researcher, program/game designer and entrepreneur, I seek collaboration throughout the life cycle of music-based projects (design, R&D, marketing, advocacy). iQsonics specifically is interested in collaboration with experts in music-health, speech-language development, early childhood development, parent training & engagement, Community of Practice, game-based learning, telepractice, edtech, AI, VR, AR. Collaboration may have others or myself as consultant/advisor, or in partnership, co-ventures or sponsorship. Funding and in-kind relationships are vital, as we seek support for our ongoing research with SING AND SPEAK 4 KIDS, improving effectiveness, usability, feasibility, fidelity of implementation, training, and advocacy. Our program SS4Kids is also sponsored by the non-profit organization EarthRightsInstitute.org, so we may work with and receive donations and grants from foundations for socially benefiting activities such as research, education and scholarships.
