Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health: 
Elke Downer is the JoyRx Music Manager for the Children's Cancer Association, leading a team of music specialists in delivering the healing power of music to pediatric patients across the country. A life-long musician, songwriter, and performer, Elke is passionate about bringing music into the healthcare setting to help give patients a creative outlet and increase their social-emotional wellbeing. Elke has a BS in Human Development from Warner Pacific University, and is currently a graduate student in the University of Florida's MA: Art's in Medicine program.
Collaboration Interests: 
I am very interested in connecting with others in the field of arts in medicine. I greatly enjoy collaborating with hospital staff such as Child Life Specialists, music therapists, and nurses to partner in bringing accessible musical experiences and programs for patients and hospital staff. I am also interested in research projects regarding the impact and outcomes of music in healthcare.
