Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
I am a medical music therapist and researcher based in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). I am the founding president of the Malaysian Music Therapy Association, current Chair of the Global Crises Intervention Commission, World Federation of Music Therapy and serve on two committees involved in Strategic Development for the International Association of Music & Medicine. My work centers around music therapy in medical rehabilitation settings as well as music, health & well-being.
Collaboration Interests:
Music, health & wellbeing; Music therapy in the following areas - treatment of neurological conditions dementia and Parkinson's disease; medical rehabilitation including stroke and traumatic brain injury; cancer care; soundscape for health; creating effective advocacy for medical settings; crises intervention; trauma informed care; salutogenic approaches.
