Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health: 
Janice Lindstrom has been a clinical music therapist since 1995, working in schools, geriatric long term care facilities, psychiatric settings, hospitals and private practice. She supervised SMU music therapy students during their pre-internship clinical training from 2011 to 2015. She has served on the Southwestern Region of the American Music Therapy Association (SWAMTA) board of directors for 17 years in many roles, including president, and has served on the continuing education committee for the Certification Board for Music Therapy. Currently, she is serving as Government Relations Representative for SWAMTA and co-chair of the Texas Task Force for State Recognition of Music Therapy. Lindstrom received her Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Sam Houston State University (1995) and a Master of Arts in Music Therapy from Texas Woman’s University (2001). She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Liberal Studies at SMU. In 2013, Lindstrom received the Professional Practice Award from the American Music Therapy Association. In 2021, she received the AMTA/CBMT "Changemaker" award for advocacy for music therapy.
