Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
I serve as core project manager and board-certified music therapist for an NIH-funded R01 clinical trial led by Dr. Sheri Robb investigating the biomarkers of action of an active music engagement intervention for children with cancer and their caregivers. Previously, I served as a research assistant in the Auditory Neuroscience Lab at Northwestern University (PI: Dr. Nina Kraus). I received my Master's in Music Therapy with Undergraduate Equivalency from the University of Miami, and also hold a Bachelor of Science in Violin and Neuroscience from Indiana University. Within music and health, my primary research interests are in hearing loss, rhythm-based interventions for speech and language development, music therapy for auditory (re)habilitation, and, broadly, biomarkers of action for music therapy interventions.
