Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
I am a mixed-methods evaluator and applied and community-engaged researcher with a focus on inequality, education, health/healthcare, innovation programming, and research/practice partnerships. I currently serve as the Lead of the Applied Research, Evaluation, & Engagement team based in Duke University’s Social Science Research Institute (SSRI), where I collaborate with health system initiatives, university, and community-based initiatives. Among foci, I work in partnership with an El Sistema-inspired program to implement a community-partnered RCT examining the effect of El Sistema-inspired programming on youth executive function, social emotional development, and academic achievement as well as selected parent/caregiver outcomes.
