Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
As a founding director of a department of music therapy in a large inner city (NYC) hospital system, and a clinic and research center for music and medicine, I enjoy inter-disciplinary research and developing projects that fuel innovative care for people-from neonates to pediatrics through end of life. I am an associate professor and teach medical students and music therapists at several universities in the US and abroad. I also am the Co-EIC of the journal 'Music and Medicine' and a founding member of the IAMM (International Association for Music & Medicine). My interests span from mental health of musicians, and 'normals' to music in enhancement of sleep, pulmonary function, pain, sedation and palliative care. I am working long-term on a team retro pain color assessment and a music psychotherapy assessment tool.
