Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
• Author of books related to therapeutic music and sound: Sonic Alchemy (1997 InnerSong Press), The Power of Sound (2000/2010 Inner Traditions), Through a Dog's Ear (2008 Sounds True), Soundwork on a Hot Rock (2023)

• Music producer specializing in psychoacoustics with 50+ recordings used in homes, clinics, classrooms, and animal care environments globally.

• Educator and conference presenter.

Since 1985, I have been professionally engaged in the field of therapeutic music and sound. As a producer, I co-created the first at-home Tomatis program. Collaborations are extensive and include Louise L. Hay, Dr. Andrew Weil, and The Monroe Institute.

I was the co-founder and Executive Director of the Sound & Music Alliance (SAMA) in 2009.
Collaboration Interests:
I am thrilled with the tremendous forward momentum that Renée Fleming, Francis Collins, and teams have provided. I look forward to great coverage of the Sound Health initiative in my upcoming book, Soundwork on a Hot Rock.

As a psychoacoustically-oriented music producer, I'm interested in collaborating in the creation of soundtracks conforming to Sound Health research studies results. While I believe some of the music-based interventions (MBI's) will borrow from existing music, I submit that some or most of the medically-oriented soundtracks of the future will have a primary emphasis on tone (resonance), tempo (entrainment), and pattern identification to effect primary pulse systems (brain, heart, breath).

In the same way that Brian Eno innovated the concept of "Generative Music," I believe that MBI's will/can be algorithmic and would like to collaborate in the creation of these kind of delivery systems based on an individual's sonic requirements.

I am so enthusiastic about the forward momentum the Sound Health Initiatives are bringing forward, I would like to be helpful in any way that contributes to this great effort. It is right on time!
