Kate Pitt (she/her) is a dramaturg, director, and writer focused on new and classic work for the stage. She is a Resident Artist at American Lyric Theater and Resident Dramaturg for the Vanguard Initiative at Chicago Opera Theater. Recent credits include the world premieres of ‘Dig’ by Theresa Rebeck at Dorset Theatre Festival, ‘Hamlet’s Big Adventure (a prequel)’ by the Reduced Shakespeare Company, and the first performance of ‘The Transformation of Jane Doe’ by Stacy Garrop and Jerre Dye at Chicago Opera Theater. Kate has taught dramaturgy as a guest lecturer at the Longy School of Music of Bard College and produced public programs at the Folger Shakespeare Library. She is a member of Wingspace Theatrical Design and Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas. BA, Yale.
