Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
Katrina is the California representative for the Arts Health Early Career Research Network, a graduate of the University of Florida’s Arts in Medicine Master’s Degree Program, and a Design Manager for young children’s EdTech products at Age of Learning. She engages in a variety of arts in health initiatives, from leading employee volunteer opportunities at work and facilitating art workshops with local organizations to conducting evaluations, assisting with research, and blog authoring. She is a visual artist by trade with a BFA in Multimedia Art, but also loves dancing and learning to play the keyboard. Katrina has assisted with research and evaluation efforts at both the University of Florida (United States of America) and University of Malaya (Malaysia). She would like to study the role the arts (especially music and dance) may play in the prevention of cognitive diseases (i.e. Alzheimer’s Disease).
Collaboration Interests:
I’m interested in collaborating on quantitative or mixed methods research at the intersection of arts, cognition, and well-being. I’m particularly interested in joining a local research lab and entering a PhD program.
