Ms. Perloff has worked in the movement and wellness industries for 44 years. In 1984 Ms. Perloff co-founded Fitness Break, a SF Financial District fitness center. Now she trains clients privately in Pilates and functional movement. In 2005, Ms. Perloff and her husband, Gregg Perloff gave the seed money to pilot a music therapy program at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland and in 2008, the Music Therapy Program was created. The Gregg and Laura Perloff Endowment in support of music therapy at UCSF BCHO was created in 2017. Ms. Perloff is working with UC Berkeley exploring the development of a music therapy graduated program
