Dr. Linda Chlan's program of research is focused on symptom management interventions to allay symptoms in critically ill patients receiving mechanical ventilatory support. Her program of research tests non-pharmacological interventions (music listening)to manage anxiety and impact short- and long-term critically ill patients' outcomes, including cognitive outcomes. Dr. Chlan and her multidisciplinary research team conducts clinical trials testing self-management of sedative therapy among mechanically ventilated patients to improve symptoms.
