Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
I am a voice specialist with a passionate interest in authentic vocal expression. My professional practice is informed by research, performance and teaching.
Through my business True Voice Creations; I promote Holistic Voicework as a therapeutic personal development tool to support Confidence, Wellbeing and Creativity. This is explored through the creation of educational resources and learning experiences sharing my methodology 5 Elements of Voicework. This personal development approach explores vocal development as a vehicle to improve holistic wellbeing through the following spheres: Psychological, Physiological, Social, Emotional and Spiritual. My personal voice rehabilitation journey has deepened my appreciation of vocal health and mental health and has resulted in the pursuit of continued professional development to underpin my methodology in a more robust way. The current evolution of 5 Elements of Voicework is aligning with current thought on an integrative trauma therapy approach to facilitation work. This is with view to undertaking research to develop a strong evidence base for potential applications of this Voicework methodology to be implemented in health and social care settings.
