Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
I am a Board-Certified Music Therapist and Neurologic Music Therapist in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. I am also a current MA Equity and Social Justice Education student at San Francisco State University. I am highly passionate about the field of educational social justice, as evidenced in my co-founding of "The Music Therapy Spot." The Music Therapy Spot is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization seeking to provide resources and support to music therapy students, interns, and new professionals around the USA.
As one who has experienced marginalization in higher-education and is currently conducting research in the area, I recognize current flaws in the existing system and look forward to further exploring them to work toward developing solutions to various higher-education systemic issues.
