Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
In my research, I use neuroimaging and machine learning to uncover patterns of brain activity and connectivity that underlie human experiences and emotions with music. Recently, I am working on modeling emotional responses to music by examining patterns of brain activation and connectivity collected during fMRI paradigms. The ultimate goal of my work is to further our neuroscientific understanding of emotions, feelings, and reward and in order to understand the mechanisms that allow for adaptive emotional behaviors in healthy populations and emotion dysregulation in clinical populations
Collaboration Interests:
Music therapists, clinicians who study mood disorders, pain management, and PTSD, and computational neuroscientists
Keywords:
music, emotion, reward
