Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health: 
Nico Silva, LMSW, M.S. is a Ph.D. student in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences at the University of Texas at El Paso and is a committed researcher and practitioner in biomedical sciences, the arts, and health. He has practiced social work in the intensive care unit, the emergency department, outpatient mental health, disability justice, the arts, and hospice. He will propose his dissertation research on music experiences of Latine adults living with depression Fall 2024. He is a Society for Neuroscience NSP Scholar and is a performance studies scholar, researcher, and educator with the recently published “Ultraendurance Sports: A Call to Action” in the Journal of Sport Social Work and an upcoming chapter in a Palgrave Macmillan anthology titled “Fashioning the Borderlands.”
