Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health: 
Dr. Niyati Dhokai is a Research Associate Professor in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at George Mason University, and she serves as Program Director for the Veterans and the Arts Initiative at the Hylton Performing Arts Center. Her work has been supported by public and private funding, including multiple contracts from the National Endowment for the Arts. Her research has included a longitudinal ethnographic study of guitar workshops for military veterans, implementing arts interventions and designing ethnographic surveys for cross-disciplinary arts and health research, and implementation analysis. Prior to her roles at GMU, she worked with veterans and service members recovering from injuries in post-acute neurorehabilitation in the Washington D.C. metro area by designing and facilitating music activities to support community integration.

I am interested in collaborating, particularly on projects involving military veterans and/or mixed-methods studies.
