Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health: 
Patrica is a Board-Certified Music Therapist, a clinical researcher, and the Human Subjects Research and Ethics Education Manager for the Human Research Protections Office at Carilion Clinic. Dr. Winter has been a professional music therapist for over 20 years, working with a wide variety of clients from very young children to older adults with Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias. She has partnered with Speech-Language Pathologists to develop an interprofessional treatment protocol to support communication, social skills, and play development in young children with speech-language disorders. Currently, Dr. Winter partners with neuroscientists, music technologists, and creative arts therapists to research music processing and the associated neural networks for people with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) using EEG technology, as well as music-therapy-based caregiver education for those who provide care for people with ADRD.
