Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
I am a board-certified music therapist and serve as the Lead Music Therapist & Clinician Supervisor for the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine in support of Creative Forces®: NEA Military Healing Arts Network. I earned a bachelor’s in music therapy at Berklee College of Music, a master’s in education with a neuroscience concentration at Harvard University, and a master’s in social work at Fordham University. I have completed advanced music therapy trainings in neurologic, neonatal intensive care, and child birthing approaches.

In my role with Creative Forces, I support access to music therapy programming, provide clinical and research mentorship to creative arts therapists, and promote arts-based partnerships in clinical and community settings. I have dedicated my career thus far to pioneering music therapy program models, specifically designed for military-connected individual and communities. I edited a book entitled, Music Therapy with Military and Veteran Populations, which is a compilation of perspectives of pioneering subject matter experts across this area of work and have published my clinical work in peer-reviewed journals from diverse fields.

I am a featured lecturer at various national and international conferences and universities and serve as the Special Interest Group Coordinator for the International Association of Music Medicine. I held the position of Resident Music Therapy Supervisor for the Jamaica Field Service Project for over a decade, where I supervised music therapy students in Schools of Hope, hospitals, infirmaries, and homeless shelters in rural communities across Jamaica. I have a passion for public service and is an advocate for creative arts therapies.
