Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
My research focuses on understanding the neural bases of stuttering, a speech disorder that affects 5% of preschool-age children and continues as a chronic condition in 1% of the general population. A long-term goal of my research is to develop neuroscience-guided interventions that can strengthen the brain’s rhythm and timing networks which in turn lead to better speech coordination toward fluent speech production in stuttering speakers.
