Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health: 
Dr. Sydelle Ross is an anesthesiologist and pain specialist who practices hospice and palliative medicine in the NJ Veterans Affairs Healthcare System.

Dr. Ross received her medical degree from the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University. She completed her residency in anesthesiology at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia Campus, and later completed fellowship training in pain medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

As a vocalist, Dr Ross incorporates music into her medical practice as a way of providing comfort to patients who are battling life-threatening illnesses, as well as patients who are at the end of life.

Dr. Ross is a member of the Healing Arts Committee of the VA NJ Healthcare System and has participated in several music-related activities aimed at promoting patient and staff well-being. She is a member of the Music and Medicine Committee of the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) and served on the executive committee for the inaugural issue of the Arts In Medicine Journal- A collaboration between AMWA and Rutger’s University Women’s Health Institute in NJ. Dr. Ross has shared her work at the intersection of music and medicine with healthcare organizations at the local and national level and was a physician contributor to the publication Artists Remaking Medicine-The Practice of Imagination and the Power to Create a Better Healthcare Future.
