Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health: 
Tara Rajendran (She / Her / Hers) graduated from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, Manipal academy of higher education (MAHE Manipal) in 2019 with a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Music from Annamalai University, Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu, India. She holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Saraswati Veena (The national instrument of India; a 7-stringed fretted plucked instrument) from Annamalai University. Dr. Rajendran has been a performing artist in Veena since a young age and she is also the founder of 'Oncology and Strings', a lecture-concert advocacy program advocating the integration of music in healthcare infrastructures, specifically oncology practice. She has authored several published research articles and has been given keynote lectures at various international conferences. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), the American Society of Hematology (ASH), the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA), and the Indian medical association (IMA).
Collaboration Interests: 
Dr. Rajendran is keen to collaborate with music therapists and clinicians on research, particularly randomized controlled trials, to explore the impact of music in oncology practice. She is interested in increasing access to patient-centric personalized music-based interventions in cancer care, in order to enhance patient outcomes.
