Short biography and a description of your interest(s) in music and health:
Canadian-American scholar-performer, educator, director, commissioner Anne Dorothy Harley teaches interdisciplinary humanities, music history, and voice at Scripps College. Recognized internationally as a specialist in contemporary classical music, Harley’s solo performances are available on Hänssler, Naxos, Sony, Canteloupe, Musica Omnia, and BMOP/sound.
In 2023-24 she spent a year as scholar in residence at Harvard Divinity School's Center for the Study of World Religions, where she led several workshops investigating the application of group music and voicework in a variety of contexts, specifically, enlivening the human relationship to the plant world, the possibility of using group in the practice of integration during psychedelic therapies, and group voicework in aging populations to enhance quality of life and mental capacity.

Collaboration Interests:
Educator/performer inviting research partners from sciences to work with me in researching the application of group voice, music and theatre practices to mental health. Particularly interested in the application of universal access group voicework to the areas of aging, dementia, and psychedelic therapeutic treatment. I am trained as a classical opera singer, but am more interested actively in creating Participatory Audience Performances (PAP): performances in which the audience is specifically invited and led to participate and create the performance of sounds and actions in a format specifically designed to maximize their engagement in creative sound and movement-making.
